They arrested me because I didn't recite psalm 121- suspected robber revealed.
A 30 years old cross border robbery suspect, John Godwin, has revealed that he was arrested because he forgot to recite psalm 121 before going for his last operation.
He also said, that God wanted him to be arrested by the police, that's why he forgot to recite psalm 121 that fateful day" before going to his operation
Other suspects are - Adeoye 25 years, Solomon Adeniji 27 years and other two nationals of Republic of Benin. Moyori Sule 42 years and Tosin Adeoye 25 years, were arrested along side with John Godwin.
According to the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (ZPPRO), CSP Dolapo Badmos, said the suspects used to snatch vehicles in Nigeria, drive them to Benin Republic and hand them over to a receiver, identified as Alhaji (no other name).
In an interview, John Godwin was learnt to be a former convict. He told the newsmen, I was once sent to Ibara Prison in Abeokuta, it was in the prison that I came across Tosin.
He further stated - my parents told me when I was born, a pastor prophesied that I would become a pastor. When I was in the prison I used to preach and pray with my colleagues. It was the devil that drove me to crime.
Whenever we are going on operation, I usually read psalm 121. I believe reading the Psalms would give me protection throughout the operation period. On the fateful day I was arrested, I forgot to read the psalms before leaving home. I believe God wanted the police to arrest me, so as to quit robbery.
